Maimonides’ 4 Steps to Teshuvah

This short video outlines the four steps to teshuvah (repentance), according to Maimonides: regret our actions, stop doing them, confess or apologize, and commit to changing our behavior in the future. Maimonides (Moses ben Maimon, also known as the Rambam), was a medieval Sephardic Jewish philosopher, Torah scholar, astronomer, and physician. Although these steps may sound simple, they require a tremendous amount of work. From the beginning of the month of Elul through Rosh Hashanah, the Ten Days of Repentance, and Yom Kippur, Jews focus on spiritual growth and improving their relationships with themselves, God and other people. This video was created by Rabbi Yosef Mizrachi, who runs an organization called Divine Information, dedicated to connecting Jews to Judaism and Torah.
